What gauge nailer would be better to turn the ship log siding?
I am looking to buy a pneumatic nailer and can not decide whether to get 15 or 16 Gage. Also be used to install windows and doors, construction of libraries, etc. The proposed siding White pine is nailed through the top edge and through about 1 "thick at the bottom. In addition, recommendations on brands? thanks.
You want a 16 ga. final straight nailer. It shoots nails from 3 / 4 "to 2-1/2", which should handle most of your needs. Have you ever have a compressor? Porter-Cable makes several different teams including a compressor, jackhammer (s), hose, and all the accessories you need. You will find you need more than one nailer. When the installation of the casing around windows and doors, I use a brad nailer to attach the box to the jamb, then Use 16 gauge. nailer to attach the cover to the wall. I have a 15 ga. angle nailer, but seldom use it. If you already have the compressor, and only need the tool, go with Porter-Cable Senco. They are the best out there. Hope this helps. http://www.amazon.com/Porter-CFFN251N-Nailer-Finish-Compressor/dp/B002JASUQA/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1249043423&sr=1-10
